Nice faucet. Easy Install. October 24, 2009 S. Patterson (North Carolina, USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Love this new faucet. Sleek and stylish. Magnetic seating of spray head is great. No more fumbling to reseat the spray head after use and it stays in place. Switching from spray to stream is easy with the large toggle-style button on the spray head.
Only one minor complaint is the faucet handle has a specific position that it must be in for the faucet to be completely off. (Or so it seems to me. Others in our household think I'm too fussy.) To be totally off, the handle must be pushed all the way up and in the center of its path of travel. If you're off a bit the faucet will drip a bit. Not a big deal but if you're rushing around the kitchen and hurriedly push the handle to the off position and don't get it exactly in the right spot you'll have a tiny drip. It's easily solved by just giving the handle a little nudge, so in no way is this a show stopper; it's just a minor thing to get used to. I guess I was spoiled by our old faucet, which was less fussy about this point, but was far more fussy about the spray head not staying in place, and switching from spray to stream could be a hassle due to the tiny buttons on the spray head.
Installation was easy and straight forward. The faucet comes with water supply lines already attached; no supply lines to buy separately. You just mount the faucet to the counter top and attach the supply lines. If you're mounting to solid surface counter tops it comes with everything needed. If you're mounting to laminate counter tops with a thin substrate, such as plywood, etc., you may need to order a "thin deck mounting aid" that's described in the instructions.
The instructions are fairly well written with several illustrations. There were a few extra items in the parts bag that weren't referenced in the instructions -- an extra washer that looks like it would go between the faucet and the counter top (there was already another washer on the faucet assembly) plus a few plastic pieces that I couldn't figure out what they were for. I put these items away for "safe keeping", which means I've now hidden them from myself. :-)
The hose that connects the spray head to the faucet assembly has a snap-fit connector instead of a screw-fit. This makes installation really easy. (Dare I say it? Installation is a snap!) No fumbling around on your back under the sink fighting with hose fittings and wrenches. There's a plastic clip that snaps over the snap-fit connector to hold the fitting together. Initially, I didn't realize what this clip did. In looking at the instructions, I thought the clip was used to limit the travel of the hose when you pulled down on the spray head, so I just picked an arbitrary spot on the hose and snapped on the clip. So . . . the first time I turned on the water the snap-fitting popped loose spraying water under the sink. I felt pretty stupid that I hadn't realized what the clip was for, but I immediately saw my mistake! I mopped up the mess, snapped the fitting back together and then snapped the clip over the fitting. Problem solved! I think the instructions could be a bit more clear on the purpose of this clip.
Overall, the installation was easy and the faucet is great. We are very happy with this purchase. I highly recommend it.
Better in every way than our 8-year-old Kohler faucet April 4, 2010 J. Barker (New Mexico, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Kohler was all plastic and discoloring badly. It also kept leaking. Kohler was excellent in sending parts; still annoying. This all-stainless Delta is really slick. It is easy to turn it on just slightly to get a small spray effect that is very good at saving water--we live in the desert. The spray head is easy to pull out because it does not use a weighted system to hold it in place relying on magnets instead. The weighted Kolhler sprayhead often would retract slightly twisted. The water spray itself is cylinder about 1.5 inches in diameter and very restrained compared to our older spray that typically oversprayed.
Note that the specs show that it reaches out 9 7/8 inches. This does not include the spray head so it actually places the water stream maybe 13 inches out in the bottom of our small central sink (we have a tri-sink model). This worked very well in our sink but perhaps not in yours. Be sure to save the tiny black-plastic strainer wrench.
Great kitchen faucet!! April 25, 2010 Denise 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this faucet in stainless for a kitchen update and am extremely happy with it!! (I returned a Kohler that wasn't up to par.)
The magna tight pull out is definitely the best detail. I would not go with any other than the Delta with the magna tight. This faucet is very easy to install and use and looks great! Look no further, if you are in the market for a new faucet.
